Born in 1928, studied piano with J. Octavian, composition with Claudio Santoro, orchestration with Leo Peracchi and conducting with Eleazar de Carvalho. He perfected his musical training in the U.S. in 1956 at the School of Cinema, studying with Miklos Rozsa, among other masters.
In 1958 makes the music of his first feature film, Pega Ladrão (Alberto Pieralisi), beginning a successful and pioneer career which would lead him to compose the music for 122 movies (85 feature film). He is Brazilian composer with more experience in the area and large number of works, some overseas, many of them award winners.
Among his extensive list of works, stand out: Mancadaru Vermelho (1960) and Boca de Ouro (1962) (Nelson Pereira dos Santos), O Assalto ao Trem Pagador (1962) (Roberto Farias), O Caso Cláudia (1979) (Miguel Borges) and As Aventuras da Turma da Mônica (1982) (Murício Souza).
He was musical director of TV Globo between 1962 and 1964.
Member of the Brazilian Academy of Fine Arts, Remo is also creator of the strip for harmonics calculating.
First meritorious member of Musimagem Brasil.
